Malik Khalid
Founder of @amadorlife, a Community Yoga Program
Malik Khalid is the founder of AMADOR, a community yoga program that serves over 3,000 people annually through free and reduced-cost programming across Atlanta. A lululemon and Liforme Ambassador, Malik's passion for wellness and community building stems from a deep family legacy of public service. His grandfather, Reverend Jesse A. Blackshear, was the first Black person elected to public office from Savannah’s east side, serving three terms as a State Representative in Georgia. Inspired by Reverend Blackshear’s advocacy and leadership, Malik has dedicated himself to fostering inclusivity and wellness within Atlanta’s diverse communities.
Malik’s advocacy extends beyond yoga. He co-chairs District Attorney Fani Willis’ LGBTQ Task Force and collaborates with Central Atlanta Progress on community engagement and placemaking efforts. Professionally, Malik has led global sales teams and driven product development initiatives with Nordstrom, Target, and At Home. AMADOR’s recognition as a featured business in Google’s Black-Owned Friday campaign earned Malik four Clio Awards, highlighting his innovative approach to business and community impact.
Additionally, Malik has served as an archival contributor to the Emmy Award-winning documentary J-Setting: The Acrobatic Dance Energizing Atlanta’s Dance Floors and Beyond. His work continues to merge wellness, business, and advocacy, all while honoring the values of service and leadership exemplified by his grandfather.
