Kenyatta Mitchell

Director of Government Affairs at the Atlanta Mayor’s Office

Kenyatta Mitchell is the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the City of Atlanta. In this role, Kenyatta is responsible for managing Atlanta’s relationships with all levels of government. Before being named Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Kenyatta was AVP at HNTB an infrastructure design firm where she led their efforts to expand their presence in cities across the nation. In this position, she played a key role building partnerships that extend the company’s growth as a national leader in transportation infrastructure.   
An industry veteran with over 20 years of leadership in government affairs, Kenyatta has helped build relationships and advance business strategies in support of her clients across transportation, hospitality, public works, construction, and other industry sectors. She has excelled at making an impact for her clients and the Atlanta community, and we welcome her expertise, connections, and insight.  
Earlier this year, she was honored as a Champion of Equity by Georgia Equality and from 2020- 2022 she was recognized by her peers as a top lobbyist by the Georgia Professional Lobbyists Association.  Kenyatta earned her bachelor’s degree in history and master’s degree in political science/international politics at Clark Atlanta University.  
When they’re not at the City, Kenyatta is a wandering sprit who loves to travel.  Her next trip is Egypt, and she cannot wait to be on the African continent again.
