Calvin Pegus (he/him) is an accomplished DEI leader and LGBTQ Youth advocate with more than ten years of professional experience across DEI, human resources, public policy, and fashion retail. In his current role, he drives the Business Resource Group (BRG) initiatives to differentiate Ulta Beauty as a DEI industry leader by serving as a strategic thought partner and advisor while also providing oversight and governance as the champion for BRGs. His top priority is to shape an inclusive corporate culture that attracts, inspires, and retains high-performing, diverse, and innovative professionals.
Calvin has served as project coordinator to the deputy secretary at the New York state office of civil rights. He has also held leadership positions at the Georgia Department of Public Health, as a fellow at the National Black Justice Coalition, and at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights as an LGBTQ fellow. DEI is a value Calvin holds near to his heart, and throughout his career, he's made it his mission to advocate for and create more inclusive spaces. Calvin is on the board of non-profit and civic organizations, including Fanni T. Willis Fulton County DA's LGBTQ Advisory Committee. Calvin is committed to promoting diverse representation and LGBTQ+ issues.
He is an avid learner and holds a Master's in Public Health from Morehouse School of Medicine, a Bachelor's degree in African-American/Black studies from Georgia State University, and a strategic human resources leadership certificate from Cornell University. Calvin is also a fashion and culture enthusiast; he resides in Atlanta with his fur baby, Taurus.
