Brandi Hoyos is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager for Southern Company, supporting Southern Company’s DE&I initiatives. Brandi comes to Southern Company with over 18 years of DEI leadership from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) where she oversaw DE&I strategy, community partnerships and social impact, and organizational culture. At the ASO, she was a founding member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Leadership Constituency for the League of American Orchestras where she led national efforts as a trusted advisor who served over 650 organizations in the industry.

While leading DEI in both independent and publicschool industries, she mentored diversity practitioners for the Southeastern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) which supports over 400 schools and served as Vice President of Diversity Directors for the Atlanta-Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS). In September 2023, Brandi received the award for Top Diversity and Inclusion Officer by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Lesley University. Brandi lives in Atlanta and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, attending concerts, reading, and crafting.
